the challenge

Create a timeless, authentic eating and drinking destination that offers great food and an unparalleled beer and wine experience at an approachable price. For WRAG, this began by staying true to the owners’ vision: understand the DNA and history of artistic Venice; Know thy customer – local behavior and flavor; Incorporate Larry Bell’s work and contributions as an American artist whose career flourished out of Venice in the 1960’s. We were cautious about anything feeling forced; this audience eschews pretence or disingenuous plays to “hipster” culture. The evolution had to be natural and ultimately a place that local Venetians would proudly send their friends, undeterred by the occasional tourist.

the solution

WRAG responsibilities included creating and evolving the full menu, recipes, kitchen operational procedures, equipment procurement, strategic partnerships, and laying the framework for the entire operational manual and operating system.

Larry’s is set to open late in 2011. This new restaurant and wine/beer bar will undoubtedly become a hangout for local Venetians and “Beer - Food – Wine” enthusiasts who want a casual hangout with elevated tastes and aesthetics.
