I have a lot of favorite things; eating fresh sea urchin right off the boat in Monterey Bay, or finding something unexpected at the Wednesday Farmers' Market in Santa Monica, like baby fennel from a farmer who normally sells peaches. I get excited about a late season delivery of heirloom tomatoes or the marbling on a perfect cut of meat. Truth be told, I love anything with duck fat or bacon, and I'll never turn down banana cream pie from The Apple Pan or a cold pint of Lagunitas. Here are some things that inspire my vision and approach to an experience I take very seriously: eating!
